"I am tempted to give one more instance showing how plants and animals, remote in the scale of nature, are bound together by a web of complex relations"
Charles Darwin, 1859
ABOUT ME
A life enthusiast having fun doing ScienceOi, from Brazil!
I am a biologist with broad interests in ecology, evolution, and biodiversity conservation. My research focuses on the complexity of animal–plant interactions—their ecological and evolutionary underpinnings—and how these interactions respond to human-driven environmental change. With over 17 years of experience in many ecosystems around the world, I integrate network ecology, evolutionary thinking, natural history, ecological theory, and advanced statistical tools to understand how biodiversity is adapting to the challenges of the Anthropocene. I am particularly committed to exploring ways to reconcile nature and humanity for the benefit of all. I am currently a Young Research Fellow at the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden Research Institute and an Associated Researcher at the Juruá Institute., where I study socio-ecological networks and the sustainability of natural resource use in tropical forests. I also serve on the Editorial Board of Web Ecology, an open-access journal free to read and publish. Beyond research, I enjoy an active lifestyle, dedicating time to surfing, gardening, meditating and cultivating my own food whenever possible. If you are interested in my work, would like to collaborate, or wish to exchange ideas, I invite you to 👉 get in touch! |
